Have you got a housemate that has no idea how to cook? Or is your housemate a catastrophe in the kitchen? If so, here are some tips and hints to maybe bring out the chef in him/her!
- Google a simple recipe and slide it under their door when it is their turn to cook.
- Find a ‘cooking for your housemates’ web site and send them the link.
- Buy them a ‘cooking made easy’ cook book for a surprise gift.
- Offer to help chop and dice and make them promise to return the favor.
- Bribe them with doughnuts for desert if they make a decent meal.
- Remind them that they don’t have to do the dishes if they cook.
- So you all don’t die of starvation, make sure you have a back up plan if all goes up in smoke.
- If all this fails, make a pact that they never cook again.
Some people are just not going to be acceptable chefs; in fact they may be down right dismal when it comes to feeding their housemates! So once you have discovered this and are fading away to a stick figure, maybe suggest they hang up their wok and move on to something they enjoy and are good at. Maybe it’s something you don’t like or are not so good at. Compromise is a wonderful thing when it comes to happy and hungry housemates!
